A flexible and functional start

Pastor Jeremiah Curran and the leadership team at Westbridge Church wanted a first-phase contemporary multipurpose worship facility with a capacity of 500 (per service) that could eventually be expanded into facilities for ministry to the entire family that could house 1,200 or more.

The resulting 20,500-square-foot $3.5 million first-phase building includes a multipurpose 500-seat worship space with a stage, an extensive lobby with a café/serving kitchen, an early childhood suite, classrooms, a youth auditorium, an office and a conference room.

Both the main worship space and lobby are designed as meeting and gathering spaces with the lighting and sound completely controlled in the worship space. The live lobby is flooded with natural light from both ground-level and clerestory windows.

The building exterior finishes are a combination of masonry, stucco, metal and glass. Much of the building’s steel structural system and concrete floors have been left exposed on the building interior, leaving a minimum amount of highly finished surfaces. This allowed for both economy of construction, and provides flexibility for the building’s current and future uses.

The phase-one building is located on the 10.7-acre site with complete parking facilities and space for the proposed 44,000-square-foot phase-two expansion.
