Exhilarating spaces for an inspired global education

Lakes International Language Academy (LILA) is a Pre-K through 12 language immersion public charter school that has seen phenomenal growth since its founding in 2004.  This expansion project is currently under construction and is scheduled to open March 1, 2020.

Beautiful from the inside out

This phase two project is a 55,000 square foot two-story addition to an existing middle school building that converts it into a complete facility for both middle and high school.

It houses 12 new classrooms which include science labs, art classrooms, as well as choral and instrumental music spaces. Also included is a two level media center, a performing arts center seating 430, a double gymnasium with locker rooms, a large two-story central commons area and faculty offices.

These new spaces help enable the students to be ready for greater challenges in their academic journey and beyond.

The addition while designed to blend with the existing structural brings a distinctive look of its own to the complete facility. The building exterior is architectural precast concrete panels with aluminum and glass curtainwall accents.

The performing arts center has been designed as a non-typical space that will allow the students and staff to be creative, not only on the stage, but also in using the entire space for productions and events through state-of-the-art audio, video and lighting systems.  The stage has both a traditional proscenium stage with a curtain and a thrust stage, allowing for a wide variety of productions and uses.
